SLEEPY EYE, MINN. – This past Veteran’s Day, Christensen Farms & Feedlots, Inc. (CF) was proud to support the Hunting with Heroes program, a non-profit organization focused on the physical and emotional healing of our nation’s military heroes through community support, camaraderie and hunting/fishing in the rural communities of Iowa.
Each year, veterans are flown into Iowa from all over the country to attend Hunting with Heroes. The veterans spent time hunting pheasants, geese and ducks on donated land leading up to Veteran’s Day. On Veteran’s Day this year, over 400 veterans drove through a patriotic display in Lakota, IA in less than two hours to receive a ham, Thanksgiving meal, gas cards, mag flashlights and additional gifts from local businesses including from CF.
Christensen Farms was proud to be a donor of this event this year by providing a Daily’s ham for the Thanksgiving meal. Each veteran that drove through this event received 8-pound ham from CF’s partner, Daily’s Premium Meats. CF Service Manager Nich Holland, who has been involved in the organization the past nine years, plays an integral role in the success of this event every year on behalf of CF. He continually shows his passion for helping those in Iowa communities and our wounded vets. This year CF volunteers also included Ryan Finer, Cory Thilges, Adrienne Brammeier, Justin Murray, Job Akkerman, Taylor Goeders and Andrew Bormann. CF also recognizes all the Hunting with Heroes leaders for their dedication to appreciating veterans who serve and protect our country.
